VITAMIN C
One of my most creative and distinctive works, this piece was selected for exhibition at the prestigious British Glass Biennale in Stourbridge — an immense honour that celebrates innovation and excellence in contemporary glass.
Drawing on my background in neuroscience research, I’m endlessly fascinated by the interplay between nature and structure — the elegant mathematics that underpins organic form. This panel was inspired by the crystalline structure of Vitamin C, transforming microscopic geometry into light, colour, and texture.
The design began with an image captured under the microscope, which became the blueprint for the composition. Using traditional stained-glass techniques, I worked entirely with antique hand-blown flashed glass — each piece individually cut, engraved, painted, and silver-stained before being fired in the kiln and finally assembled in lead.
The result is a meticulous translation of scientific beauty into art — a luminous reminder of how deeply connected science and creativity can be.
