I make images in glass inspired from the patterns in nature and structures that occur naturally. The Fibonacci sequence of numbers is present in many natural settings from sunflowers, shells and succulent plants. I find this mathematical sequence of numbers pleasing and there is an amazing structure, simplicity and wonder to the molecules, plants and creatures that find this the most energy efficient way to exist.
I etch the images that are attached into flash glass. They are then painted and fired in my kiln at home. Once ready they are then made up into panels of stained glass using traditional leading techniques that are centuries old.
